Hi, by drives are you referring to your floppy, harddisk and CD ROM or just the CD ROM? Since you indicated that you can go to My Computer, I am assuming your HD is working and booting to Windows but your CD won't read inserted discs. You may want to try and uninstall the CD, (Right click My Computer, Properties, Hardware, Device Managemr, expand DVD/CD-ROM drives, right click on your CDROM, uninstall). Reboot the machine and see if XP auto detects and re-install. Assuming that the CD ROM has no hardware problem, then it should work. Should this fail, you may want to try to force your registry to restore your CD (Be careful, there are risks involved). This requires that you edit your Registry after of course backing it up. Should you feel comfortable doing this, the procedure and registry entry can be found at http://www.theeldergeek.com/restore_missing_cd_or_dvd_drive.htm. Hope this work out for. Kind regards.

Can some one help find me a lightscribe dvd supermulti drive/cd writer and a cd/dvd rom combo drive that will work in a hp paviloin a720n desk top computer and compatable ...

Hi there,

If you just google eBay and go to their site, type "HP Pavilion A720N Lightscribe Multi Drive" and you should have a good selection of choices. Simply duplicate the process for the other drive. I would suggest you keep your dealings with members who have a rating of 100% next to their name and you should have no problems. They will also usually be happy to help make sure what they sell you will be 100% compatible.

I buy almost all my replacement parts there for all my customers.

Marcus

The DVD and CD drive will not open i like to replace then but which one do i buy that will fit the slot ?

Doesnt matter which you get first, pull old one out, plug new one in with same plugs and your comp will recognize it on start up, might have to install drivers if the new one comes with a driver disk.

Lost factory disks for my Compaq Persario sr1103wm know were I could get a new one?

Most HP and Compaq desktop PCs that ship with Windows Vista and XP do not come with recovery discs. Instead, they use a partition on the hard drive. To access a hard drive recovery, turn on the computer and repeatedly press F10 (XP) or F11 (Vista) until a Recovery window opens.
