You door lock should only engage when you are in the self cleaning mode. So you have a communications problem between the door lock and you control panel.

Based on the cost of the parts and my service call experience you are looking at a $500.00 -$600.00 service call.

It's time for a new unit. Go into the internet and search; :Sears Outlet Store". This is a scratch and dent store where you can save several hundred dollars on a new unit with a one year warrantee.

there are 2 thermal switches within the component area in front of the fan of the oven, they open and close like a switch at certain temps,if one of these go bad (stays open after oven clean cycle)and oven cools then it wont let power back to the unlock motor,you can access these switches and bypass them to test them,if lock works then merely replace that particular switch

Self Cleaning Oven Problem

I believe they can stay "Locked" for up to 3/4 Hours. See they heat up to like 900 Degrees, to "Clean" the oven... It stays locked until the oven "Thinks" it is "Safe" to be opened.

I pressed the start button for 5 seconds and the lock symble came on than I pressed the start button again for 5 seconds and the oven unlocked and all is well

The oven has to cool down after cleaning; the door stays locked until it has reached a lower temperature.

HI, this is referring to a Stuck keypad, which may mean relay is is turned on.

Determine if problem is with the Key Panel or Control by:

1. Pushing CLEAR/OFF pad.
2. Disconnecting Ribbon Cable from control and waiting at least 32 seconds to see if Code recurs

If code recurs, problem is in the control. Replace control.

If code does not recur, problem is with the Key Panel.

My oven door stays locked , when I press the clear button I get F1?
I hold the clear button for a few seconds and still nothing.
