I have a customer who send hundreds of Purchase Orders all over the country. Monday he sent out 300 faxes, called all of the vendors and 50 of them did not receive the Purchase Orders. I figured he wasn't dialing 9 for an outside line or was not properly transmitting them, but he is doing everything right. The journal indicates that all faxes went throught even though they did not. He resent a fax to one vendor while they were standing next to the UF 8000, the fax indicated that it went through but the person standing next to the machine did not receive it. Had the phone company change out the line, same problem. I took a loaner machine UF 790 to them and it is working fine. So I have determined that it is a problem with the UF 8000 but not sure what. I'm thinking a modem board but I'm surprised that any faxes are getting through if the board is bad. Any ideas out there?
I tend to agree that if it was a bad modem that any of the faxes would get out at all. You might try stepping down the max xmit rate. Did you try to manually dial the problem number? Did the person on the other end hear the fax ring or see any activity about trying to connect? What did the transmission report say? Any info will help.

I have a brand new panafax UF-8000. It receives faxed information but it does not send out faxes. When I manually dial the recipient's number, my display screen shows that it is dialing, but it never actually sends the information. The other fax in our office, which I'm using for test purposes, shows that it is receiving the fax but doesn't print it out. Also, when I print report activity, the receiving fax shows that it did receive the information.
