I have a small business and purchased the MFC-7820N printer. How do I program/set-up the fax capability to that it will "acknowledge" the distinctive ring of someone sending a fax so that it automatically detects the other end to be a fax and switch over (without me being home)? Likewise, when the other end is a person who wishes to leave a voice message, how do I program the machine to know that if it is not a fax transmission it should revert back to a landline so that the person can leave a voice message on the answering machine. For some reason, it is staying in "DR Mode". What is this? Thanks, so much!

you might have to change the settings for the switching time into stand-by. plz have a look into the manual which describes these settings (zero seconds are possible)

plz contact brother hotline of your country ( www.brother.com )because there are so many diffrent telephone standards which might affect a good working of the fax abillity.

try leaving easy receive on and changing the receive mode to manual. when you pick up phone and hear the other faxs' tone, wait for your machine to take over by listening for the chirps. then hang up. if you don't hear chirps from your machine, then press *51.
