Symptom:Buzzing or motorboating sound in either the transmit or receive.
Problem: TR602 is oscillating
Cure: Replace C602 with a .01uF cap {Cap is located in the power supply board}.
RG 66,99,DX2517 Replace Q54 2SB754 60watt 7A with a higher power 2SB817 100 Watt 12A. Derating of this component will cool operation, provide better voltage stability, decrease wobble, allow voltage increase to 14.5 volts comfortably. (replace 10 volt caps in this section of the radio to a minimum of 16 volts before increasing supply voltage to this level)and provide faster swing rise time, Replace Q37 2SA473 to a 2SA1012-0 or ECG153 this will improve the clarity and volume of the modulation and it will also run a lot cooler.

Shorts & will not receive or send

Need more info ...but these 99v is notorious for cracking traces on the board. The frequency counter roams all over when this happens . It wont let it key up or receive. It needs a good tech to find it.

I have a galaxy 99v when i key the mike the frequency counter jumps around.need help where to locate the problum

sounds like either a bad.mixer crystal or the vco is out.of wacky. if it is the crystal then you can try reseting it. it is a 10.240 crystal. heat the crystal wig a soldering iron for white 8 to 10 seconds. if that doesMr work replace it.

Frequency counter is running on the galaxy 99v example channel 28 says 27.205 then 27.235 and so on

You are obviously off frequency. Two things. One does it just cycle 2, 3, or 4 frequencies and then continue to recycle those same frequencies despite going up or down in channels? If this is the case there is a board in the CB called a PCB board. If you open your radio it is a little circuit board. Held onto the side of the radio by a screw and has two or three connectors leading to the board. Replace that little board and your radio will be good as new. I have seen radios come in my shop many times and this is the fix. What that board does is send a signal to the crystals to start mixing a frequency. When it goes out it just sticks where it is at or only mixes a small few frequencies. Here is a link to a place that can take care of you. http://maycomcomm.com/ I trust Maycom with all my new Galaxy parts. Now for the other option. Is it just randomly switching frequencies no matter the channel? We call this oscillating. If this is the case it could be a bad crystal. Could also be a bad PLL. If the CB is Oscillating I recommend you take it to a tech with an oscilloscope to have it repaired. You have to be able to set the mixers and an oscilloscope is the only way. This is the most technical part of the CB (front end)

Frequency counter displays two digets high from hump on fine clarifier adjestment on usb.27.186 insted of 27.185. also in am mode shows dead on with clarifer hump until mic is keyed thin dropes from 27.185...

Turn that fine clarifier a 1/4 turn or so to the right. I own a Galaxy DX99V and sometimes if that clarifier is just right it will drop down a hundredth of a MHz just like that when the mic is keyed. Your radio is just fine. Just adjust that clarifier a tad. The Galaxy DX99V is one of the best radios out there. I love them. -73-

Freq counter just keeps going higher does not stop cannot talk on it

sounds like the mixer crystal. When this part goes bad it makes the radio go way off frequency. It will probably need replacing.
