Buttons stuck? After changing batteries, I seem to have lost all functions. After power on, volume control goes only to extremes (0 or 20) menu buttons don't respond and power off works occassionally. Tried clearing and reformatting, but the symptoms don't change. If no fix is available, how about a recommedation for mp3 that is more used for audio books.

I had this very same problem with my Ilo... The problem is most likely static electricity in the circitry... to fix it, pull out the battery, wire both contacts together (put a piece of metal between them) and press and hold the power button and all the other buttons at once for about 20 seconds. This should let any static electricity cycle out and it should work (Same thing happens alot with video game controllers). Hope this helps

My Samsung PN50C450B1D plasma TV doesn't respond when touching the Menu, Volume or Channel buttons on the TV itself.

Chances are you have a stuck button on the button cluster, what I'd do is remove the connector going to it and use the remote control, with a stuck button the remote won't function properly.

Menu will not come up. Channel will not change. No remote.

brendee89,
I did not get who the manufacture was of the tv but you may want to see if one or more of
the menue buttons are stuck down on the tv's front panel. This has been a common cause of
problems with Mitsubishi and Sony tv's. It could also cause volume to go up by it's self, no menue
functions, no power up and or no remote control functions to work.
Hope this helps,

New remote won't program to switch to cable input.

That's a problem with universal remote controls. Often they don't control every function of the TV. They just don't have the buttons needed to control everything the original remote did. You'll have the most basic controls - power, channel and volume up and down - and maybe a menu button. But you'll frequently find other things don't work, like switching inputs. There isn't anything you can do except try all the codes for your TV brand and see what each button does. You might find that the buttons have different functions depending on which code you've entered. You might also look for another brand of universal remote that has more functions available.

32 inch tv goes from normal sound during program to extreme loud

May be a defect but, if you notice the sound changes with different channels or movies or HD or Standard, look for a volume limiter control button in the menu setup under audio control. Sometimes the menu has a control that you can turn on to limit different volume levels during the shows origination.

ILO-32HD

Normally this is a good indication of a stuck button on the set. With the set off, try working each of the control buttons. You should be able to feel teh button engage. If one feels like it does not work, that is the likely culprit and it should be replaced.

Let me know your results.

Sony 36' TV Volume Goes up on own/Stuck on Video 2

There's a setting in the menu. I think it's called "smart audio". It's supposed to adjust the volume automatically for commercials. But I don't think it works that well. Give that a try.
