Question about Nakamichi SoundSpace 5 Shelf System

Ejects CD'd rather than playing them

The CD player decides not to play CD's after playing for about an hour. Typically it will play CD 1 & CD 2 then will eject CD 3 rather than playing it. Sometimes it will eject CD 2. But after it ejects one it won't play anymore no matter where they are loaded unless you turn it off and leave it off an hour or so. Then it usually works. It's wall mounted.

I've found that the Nakamichi SoundSpace 5 is picky about the CD's it plays. I recorded a bunch of CD's to play on the one at work, and it would reject CD's recorded on certain brands but not on others. Sometimes it will play part of a CD it doesn't like and then eject it. I have learned that it likes Kodak CD-R discs, but not Maxell CD-R's and some other brands. They are all burned on the same equipment using Nero, so it gets down to the disc brand & type.

Also, it can act up when it overheats. We have ours mounted on a wall too, and it will shut down or otherwise act up if it gets too warm. Switching to a radio or aux input function will help it cool down, as the CD motor generates quite a bit of heat.

Sony CDP-C910 will no longer play cds or eject changer cartridge

Mine did the same thing. My player was primarily used in the garage and the cold weather may have caused my player to do the same thing. I just fixed my player. I removed the top cover and looked at the CD in the play position. In the upper right corner from the CD, you will see a spindle motor with a belt on it. Gently spin the motor back and forth carefully with your finger. I rotated it a half-spin in either direction, careful not to dislodge the belt. When I turned the player back on, the mechanism operated as it normally would and began playing the disc. I was able to eject and reinsert the magazine without any issues, solving the problem. Hopefully that will work for you.

Error 3 on my 6 disc CD changer The manual says to eject and re-insert disc, but the player won't eject or play or change discs. What is the fix?

try disconnecting power to the radio for an hour or so. usually it is best to disconnect the battery overnight to reset the microprocessors.

Cd will not eject from cd 3.gives disc error message and will not read the cd.. disc errors on cd2 and cd4,but will eject the cd.will not play cds. have unplug both units for an hour. no change...

My first guess would be that the loading belt is slipping. This will prevent the cd from loading completely and thus won't read. The belt costs around $2-$3. Care must be taken when opening up this unit.

Let me know if you need any additional info.

After approx 1/2 hour of play the movie gets stuck for few seconds, plays again for 2-10 seconds, then permanently gets stuck. Sometimes a smack to the machine works, ff does not work....we usually just...

Smacking the machine is a good way to destroy the DVD lens. Get a CD/DVD lens cleaner and make sure there aren't any marks on the disk. Dirt & smudges cause about 75% of all CD/DVD player problems.

Car CD player

bose provided the speakers, now problems relating to cd play from that point of view.
i had similar problem in my volvo , and decided to take the stereo out to find out why it would eject. i dscovered my kids shoved coins into the cd player slot.......... even though the disk itself was also not good......

if for some reason you decide to remove cdplayer element of stereo from car ( as car may be too long out of warranty )or you fell cool about doing this, just make sure you dont disconnect the climate control or the on board unit with central locking switches, or you will still have to bring your car back to the main dealer to get the air bag and locking systems reset. even removing the fuses from the fuse board wnt help here if you decide to proceed with DIY CD player repair as removing the wrong fuses or combinations of fuses (FOR YOUR MAKE AND MODEL OF CAR) will result in the same situation on re installation.

good luck.
