The CD player decides not to play CD's after playing for about an hour. Typically it will play CD 1 & CD 2 then will eject CD 3 rather than playing it. Sometimes it will eject CD 2. But after it ejects one it won't play anymore no matter where they are loaded unless you turn it off and leave it off an hour or so. Then it usually works. It's wall mounted.
I've found that the Nakamichi SoundSpace 5 is picky about the CD's it plays. I recorded a bunch of CD's to play on the one at work, and it would reject CD's recorded on certain brands but not on others. Sometimes it will play part of a CD it doesn't like and then eject it. I have learned that it likes Kodak CD-R discs, but not Maxell CD-R's and some other brands. They are all burned on the same equipment using Nero, so it gets down to the disc brand & type.
Also, it can act up when it overheats. We have ours mounted on a wall too, and it will shut down or otherwise act up if it gets too warm. Switching to a radio or aux input function will help it cool down, as the CD motor generates quite a bit of heat.
