Question about SanDisk Sansa e250 MP3 Player

My Sansa e250 won't stay connected or sync

My Sansa e250 2g mp3 player started acting strangely last night and for the life of me I can't figure out how to fix it... I was deleting songs via Windows Explorer so that I could put new stuff on it, and then I tried sync-ing the new stuff to it in Windows Media. I figured I was doing things too quickly because all of a sudden it shut off. I disconnected it from my PC and turned it back on, but it opened to and froze on a "refreshing database" screen. I restarted it, and it FINALLY finished "refreshing"... but when I looked at my music files, everything was gone. No songs at all. The pics are still there, and when i connected it to my computer again it said that there were a couple files of music on the player, but they're not there. THEN I tried to sync new stuff to the player, but the second I click "sync" it works until it's done sync-ing about 80% of the first song, and then my mp3 player turns itself off and on again, and so nothing can sync to it. Now I don't even need to ask the computer to do anything to it, it'll just sit there, connected, turning on and off. When it's disconnected, it's fine.

End result: There is no music on the player, and I can't sync anything to it or do anything to it via the computer cuz it keeps turning itself on and off. Can anyone help me? I've tried the method prescribed by thamp3doctor and it won't work.

    oh, btw... the player's about a year old... when I had it for 3 months I had to completely reformat it. Just in case that helps someone (PLEASE!!!) figure out how to fix it.

    I don't know...
    Thank you for any effort you put into this... I was got impatient (forgive me, I got a lot of music for Christmas and was very eager to take it with me) and tried to remember what I did nine months ago. The whole "recovery mode" thing was a bit of a stretch, but it worked. Granted, I had to do it three times, but now everything works normally... it syncs and plays and charges like it used to.

    Thank you for your very helpful site... if I ever encounter a tech issue ever again I'll be sure to come to you guys (And I'll try to be a little more patient). keep it up!!!

How do i reformat my Sansa e260 mp3 player? I want to erase everything off the player and have it like new again.

Reset All
If your device freezes up press the Menu button and hold for 15 seconds.
This is like a power down of the device. Once you perform the reset, the adjustments you made during last operation
will be gone.....
Go to my computer click on folder scroll to sansa and open the media folder and open each sub folder and delete manually then delete the folders Right click on your sansa then format a couple of times hope this works

Mp3 player froze while I was listening 2 it...

this was probally caused by a corrupted file...try to play threw ur mp3 player and see with ones are causeing it to freeze then delet them threw your computer

Sansa e250 does not appear in Windows Media Player when connected

Go intothe Settings menu of the Sansa and change USB Mode from MTP mode to MSC mode or vice versa

Sansa c200 froze.

Pop the back cover off and take the battery out...when you place the battery back in and restart you should be ok.

Will eventually lose songs downloaded?

Okay, here's what i've encountered:  songs that I downloaded on rhapsody, without purchasing, only lasted about 7-10 days unless i reconnected.  once my trial period ended, i lost all the songs.  songs that i've purchased i've had no trouble (although if you load them to the sansa immediately after download, you may get the same message.  its best to wait at least 24 hours).  good luck

I need help with my Sansa Sandisk e250R

To fix it, format your Sansa. I had the exact problem. Plug it in, then in "My Computer" right click its icon and hit format. Do not select quick format. Then it will be fixed.
