Xbox 360s starts making a weird noise when it reads a disc then it plays the disc for about 2 min and it gives a beep sound and shuts down i have no clue what is happening i tried turning off the auto shut down but no use
Depending on the console type(360, 360 elite, 360 slim) it varies but mostly this only happens in the 360 and 360 elite. If you have a slim it is that the disk tray is somehow broken( like mine was) and all you need to do is to send back to microsoft and they will fix it. If it's the 360 or 360 elite then you most likely have some how collected dust bunnies in part of your Xbox. All you need to do there is just lightly blow into the back of the disk tray while it's open. It also depends on if it is standing or on it;s side. If it is on it side then dust bunnies and if it is standing theit's either dust bunnies or a functioning problem. All in all it's probably just dust. Good luck with your xbox, hope it's not broken!
Sounds like the drive is very dirty, or going out. Try cleaning it, or just replace it.

Crack open the DVD case and see whats going on and try fixing it yourself. OR Buy a new drive off of eBay and transfer the firmware key over from the old drive too the new one.
SOURCE: xbox 360 will not read disc and is making a weird noise
Is it doing this while the disc is in the drive? Also does it sound like a loud rattling sound?

It has happened to me twice and unfortunately the only way to solve it is sending the device to msoft. You can do this either through the phone or using the xbox.com site.
The second time it happened to me the machine was out the warranty, they offer me to pay 87 € to fix it and extended the warranty for an extra year after it.
At the end when I send it the second time they just sent me a refurbished one to avoid the problem to happen in the future.
