Failed or failing print heads are usually considered something that is outright replaced rather than repaired, I don't about your specific model though.

Print fail

It is possible that the thermal head has overheated, with this model is pertty much it for it as it is cheaper to replace the whole machine vs having repair done on it.

Repair code t19-207

Most likely the thermal print head needs looked at... Go through the steps you normally would to replace your master roll, but instead of taking the roll out you want to wipe that little orange stripe (the thermal print head) with a clean, lint free cloth. This will serve two purposes - it will clean the head (which you should be doing anyway) and it will also jiggle it just a little bit, which should free up whatever is preventing it from moving easily. Fixed my Rizz in 10 seconds flat.

Zebra printing out blank labels.

Thermal printers need to get hot to heat the special paper, which when heated prints an image.

Click here for a more detail explanation.

Usually the thermal head dies, it can be repaired, claim warranty support.
Check if your thermal printer is getting hot, if not then confirms above.

Take care!

Thermal head

The "thermal head" heats-up the ink and the paper, in order to "melt" the ink into the paper, and thus "fix" it. When it fails to produce heat, all the printed pages will have ink that can be smudged, when you touch the printed page.

It might be less expensive to REPLACE the printer than it would be to REPAIR the printer.

As the tickets print there is a blank line through the receipt. I was told at one time that this is because of the thermal head. How do we fix this?

Clean the thermal head surface.... If the line is still there, then the driver for the head probably has a shorted device. This will require repair at a shop capable of this work.

Prints have a thin white line across all the images printed. Everything else works and prints are ok outside of the thin white line running horizontal across the 5x7 prints.

  • Thermal head — generates heat; prints on paper
  • Platen — a rubber roller that feeds paper
  • Spring — applies pressure to the thermal head, causing it to contact the thermo-sensitive paper
  • Controller boards — for controlling the mechanism
I think that you may need to replace your thermal head, A line means there is a place that the head can not head or it cannot recieve data
How to matinence it and clean the head
