I have a PPT8800 Mobile Computer from Symbol, and when in the cradel it flashes red. I changed the batteries twice thinking that was the problem. I used same battery on a diff scanner and it worked so not the battery, used a good working scanner on the cradel and theres nothing wrong with cradel. OK, so is not the battery, is not the cradel, please help i don't know what elso to do.

There is a part on the battery cover that activates a switch on the main pcb. This switch is on the opposite side of the "reset" switch on the back of the machine, near the bottom. If this switch is not being activated, the machine will not turn on.
Try squeezing the bottom the machine, thereby pressing the battery into the machine harder. Then try turning it on.

Ok sometimes PABX systems just don't seem to play well with modems... as a thought put a couple of Commas, a "Pause" B4, AND AFTER ya try to dial the 9, IE: ,,9, As sometime it takes a while for the PABX to "Latch on" to the DTMF tones. Thats all I can think of really.
