this is a weird problem but i found out why it sometimes happens. You have some how broken a cog inside the camera and therefore it doesnot work. I opened my camera and the cog came out and shot me in the face and the cog i half broken...
If the photo shoot out show white , the obscure (quality variation), and even horizontal line ( white lines), and so on over-exposure cases, even if the use of anti-tremor, set to default values are invalid, because the camera shutter fault.
Can't repair by yourself. It's need repair camera machine shutter.
Sorry for the late reply but have just joined the web site. If the camera has got wet then that is the cause of all you issues. There will be corrosion on the circuit boards causing the unit to short out and in turn affecting the operation of the camera. Generally any warranty even extended (in Australia) will not cover water/liquid damage in any way.
It is the shutter (or at least it was for me) I found a simple test here: http://www.mydc.com.tw/repair/knowledge_en/casio-exilim-ex-s600-overexposure-t17.html I repaired it myself, but it took me a whole afternoon and lots of patience. The hard part is taking the camera apart, once I got to the shutter I just activated it manually so to dislodge any pieces that might have gotten jammed, then placed it back together again and it worked! :). It's really hard to take apart, it's like a puzzle sometimes, to find which screws are keeping it together. I also had a bit of hard time when it came to put the zoom back together again. But I guess it beats throwing the camera away. I'm still puzzled on how the CCD works so that an overexposure would make horizontal overexposed lines, but everything points to that. Fixed shutter, lines be gone.

What you describe is the symptom of a stuck shutter. The shutter is inside the lens and must close in order for the image sensor to properly record the image. Yours is stuck open, and that is why you see the lines across your images.
When a stuck shutter results from an impact it usually requires full disassembly and manual re-setting of the delicate shutter blades. This problem would require professional repair.
Unfortunately damage from an impact is not covered by your factory warranty. You can find good repair services on the internet who can service your camera.
