Question about Bose SoundDock digital music system Docking Station for iPod - White (35703)
I unplugged the power pack from the back of the docking station for transport purposes. I was then unable to get sound when I plugged the four prong plug into the unit. There was even a small amount of smoke emitting from the four prong socket. I changed wall outlets and the device worked fine. However, I am concerned about the is matter. Thanks for any assistance.

The instruction manual asks for the arrow on the power lead to be at the top. Unfortunately not all of the leads are marked with an arrow but some have DC where the arrow should be. It is possible to put the plug in upside down so please inspect the plug and socket for two very small chamfers on both the plug prongs and the socket and line them up. This is the first step, however even with the lead fitted correctly some units still only work intermittently. Leaving it unplugged for 2 mins resets the unit. This works sometimes. I think Bose need to address this problem with an update or product recall. regards pcs

The 4 pronged plug at the back of the sound dock for the power cord is too fragile for the application - mine has basically fallen apart. I'm looking for a replacement that is more robust.
