I bought a LG WM2277HW washer/dryer combo from Best Buy about 4 years ago and have had no issues. We have cleaned the washer filter but basically have not done anything else other than wash clothes. We notice that during the beginning of the cycle that the washer makes an unpleasant squeaky noise. We dealt with it for a few loads and were ready to call a repairman when it suddenly stopped. My wife told me that she had just stuffed a large load into the washer and moved the drum around more than normal in the process of getting all the clothes in the unit. It appears to have stopped because of the adjustment of the drum. However, the noise is back and louder. In addition, my wife notice during the last washing that a "rubber like" substance was on the clothes after the wash. The noise only happens during times when the washer is filing up with water. During the spin and washer cycles where no water is entering the unit, it is as quiet as the day we bought it. I would appreciate any advise.
THEN AGAIN IT COULD SIMPLY BE THE FRONT DOOR BOOT. WHEN IT IS DRY, IT RUBS AGAINST A NOT SO PERFECTLY ROUND DRUM.(IN THE FRONT)AND THIS MAKES A HIGH PITCH SOUND.USE A CLOTH AND WIPE CAREFULLY BETWEEN BOOT AND DRUM. IT MAY ALLOW A GAP SUFFICIENT ENOUGH TO NOT RUB ON DRUM. IF IT WERE BEARINGS, ONE WOULD NOTICE WATER STARTING TO APPEAR ON THE FLOOR. IF THE NOISE GOES AWAY AT TIMES WHEN YOU FIDDLE IN THE FRONT, IT COULD SIMPLY BE THE BOOT.

One of two things: 1) you need to clean out your filter trap at the front lower left corner of your washer. Sometime items trapped here make funny noises. 2)The squeaky noise is caused by a secondary pump that is responsible puming water in and out of the washer. The part itself is $25 but labor to install it will be 5 times that amount.

This is not 100% diagnosis as can't listen to noise but fault may be bearing lip seal disintegrating which is a serious fault and if im right then bearing will shortly go as well. reason it is noisy during start is that seal is dry and gets wet when full of water

I have had several repairs done to combo unit that is less than 3 years old. The pump keeps giving out, impeller is stripped. I keep putting less and less clothes in and have spent about $1000 in the last year to keep unit, which is high water efficiency. Many wierd noises and too much time to wash and dry. Is it really worth it?
