SOURCE: LG L1920P flatron just flashes

Check the + 12 and + 5 Volt voltage coming off the power supply board. Look carefully as the +5 volts might be breathing.. meaning varying between +3.89 up to +5 and then cycles again.

SOURCE: the power button on my lg flatron L1920p does not

The monitor's power inverter also known as power supply probably needs to get replace, have a computer professional handle it.

kingpin_392, I f date of manufacture is 2005 or 2006 unit may need to be refurbished. If a "known good" monitor functions ok with your pc and is cabable of displaying the WIN desktop screen, then you wil need to ask brother-inlaw if he had same "check signal cable" symptom. Try to find out how to to do source select on the unit. The monitor may be looking for signal at the DVI port instead of the VGA connector?? 12fixlouie

My flatron 1920P monitor is in power saving mode. How do I get it out of power saving mode?
It may stuck in the standby mode because it is not seeing the signal feeding it or there is problem in the power supply, look for burnt parts, bad capacitors, etc.
