Blank screen Switched it on lights up but screen blank can hear fan, beeps when battery low. Bought it yesterday and it worked fine

I guess you can't go into start button. /anyway how did you know if computing is powered? On your keyboard top line keys have screen control keys for brightness etc.eg f4. try.

Does the power supply fan spin up? does the cpu fan spin up? do any of the lights work? does the machine make a beeping noise? Is it plugged into the mains and switched on? is the monitor plugged in and switched on?

Did you hear a sound beeping. If you can hear a sound beeping it is a RAM problem. But if there is no sound beeping that is a processor problem. You can disassemble or remove the processor and clean make sure that the processor fan is spinning so that it will control the temperature of the CPU to avoid overheating.

Please force shut down the unit if it still is on. Then, press the power button and see if it starts up.

If that doesn't work, then please disconnect everything from the unit (Battery and A/C) and Reseat the RAM and recheck.

It sounds like since you need to try resetting the video settings. When switching between HDMI and AV or changing TVs, you can get a blank screen. Try these steps to reset it:
1. Make sure console is turned off completely(red light in front should not be on)
2. Hold down power button and then turn on back power switch.
3. Listen for first beep
4. Listen for second beep
5. After you hear the second beep let go
The screen should appear. And remember, this will have to be done anytime you change TVs or change between HDMI and AV. Hope this was the problem and that it helps.

hmm confusing but try turning your ps3 off at the wall give it 5mins and try again if nothing happens try it on another tv

You probably need to reset the video. Here's what you do: Turn the PS3 off from ther back switch and then back on so that the light on the front is red. Then press down on the power button and DO NOT let go. Wait for it to turn green then beep and then go back to a red light. Then press the power button again. After you have tried that, either tell me it didn't work so I can offer more advice or tell me it worked. Thanks. :)

Try booting into safe mode by pressing F8 while the computer starts up.
If you can get it into safe mode perform a system restore.
If it won't boot into safe mode please post back.

3 beeps POST code (power on self test) means RAM problem.
Reseat the RAM module/s and boot up your computer.
If you have two RAM modules, remove them both and insert one at a time to test them, to determine which module is faulty.
If it still doesn't work then replace the RAM module/s
