I have the problem that when I turn the unit on it boots to the user screen then re-boots from 4 to 10 times then the unit will finaly let me select a user.
I have no problem having it serviced but I'm afraid that it needs a hard drive. if I need a hd what do I need and where do I get the software to install on the hd.

Re: bot up problems
Definitely a software problem. Try resetting User Data. Once your able to select a user, don't. press the - key (zoom out) and the repeat button (on top), select reset user data, your information and points of interest will be cleared upon doing this fyi.
If this does not fixya, then more then likely yes it is your hard drive. If you have the software DVD/CD, then try re-installing the current version of software. If you don't, then sending it to the Magellan repair shop in Fort Worth, TX will be your next move. I'm not aware of any place you can purchase just the hard drive and the program/devices used to program the hard drives is proprietary.

You will need to Factory Reset the tablet. Warning: You will loose everything on the tablet and it will be wiped out completely, returning it to the day you took it out of the box.
1. Turn unit off
2. Hold VOL+ and the Power button at the same time for a full 5 seconds then release both. A dead Android bot should show.
3. When the bot shows, again, hold the Power and VOL+ together, then release VOL+ first, then the Power button last.
From here, you should see "Android System Recovery" on the screen.
4. Used the VOL+ and VOL- to scroll through the selections to pick "wipe data/factory reset" and press the Power button.
5. Use the VOL buttons to move to "Yes - delete all user data" and hit Power to select.
6. Use the VOL buttons to select Reboot now and hit Power.
Once complete it's as if you opened the unit for the first time out of the box.
BISSELL User's Guides can be downloaded at www.bissell.com
On the front page under Customer Service click on User's Guides and enter the model number of your unit.

I had the same problem, and found that the culprit was that the small filter element. about the size of a dime, that sits arount the nozzle activator (pin that depresses the clean water nozzel) was clogged with "gunk", and prevented cleaning solution from flowing into the unit.. It is easy to remove with a pair of tweezers or needle nose pliars.. rise it under water and reseat in the unit. You shoudl be aboe to perform the whole process in under a minute. This has happend to me several times... and am surprised the filter is not mentioned in the manual.
when the system bots up press del & go to bios settings, look for a section where is says boot sequence or boot device. select the had disk from the drop down menu.
The motherboard controls the fan speed - and laptops often turn it off entirely when it is not needed. This sounds like a motherboard issue where an internal trace is broken and sometimes it makes contact, other times not. There's probably nothing you can do except replace the motherboard.
