Panasonic dvd player/burner

I recently bought a dvd collection of movies that has 5 discs. there's a total of 10 movies, 2 on each disc. at the main menu of the dvd menu it shows both movie titles and i'm able to move the cursor to either title. however even when i pick the second movie it always plays the first movie. i've tried fastfowarding thru the first movie (past the credit) thinking the second movie will start but it just goes to the special feature section of the first movie. do you have any suggestions?? the unit belonged to my parents and i don't knoe the actual model # but there is a number on the remote; "n2qakb000050" and it's listed as a dvd/tv burner
