My phone is current in this state; where I can recieve, answer, and make phone calls but cannot get any visuals on neither the faceplate screen nor the main screen. When I take out the battery and restart my phone, (with the phone open) the phone will not show any visuals (hello Moto) nor make any sound. If I restart the phone, and close it fairly quickly, the phone starts. HOWEVER upon opening the phone to unlock it, the main screen appears white, then goes black. I can enter numbers, make calls, receive calls, but the phone will not allow me to get any visuals (ie. text messages, incoming calls) Anyone have a cure or thoughts?
OK again BATTERY!! replace that then see. If that isn't the problem that should be a connection problem (if you haven't severed the electrical ribbon in any way)

ok I have figured out a way to fix this. If you open the phone and the screen is white and the top screen shows that the phone is closed, and when the phone is closed the top screen looks like it is open the problem is the magnet and the sensor in the keypad. To fix this you need to switch to polorization of the magnet. I did this by putting a magnet underneith the battery at the top by the hinge and another one on top of the original one. If your actually willing to attempt this I'm making a picture guide for it now so just reply to this if you would like it.

I have a similar problem and have had it almost since I got my phone. I have had my phone "repaired" but it still does it. The only advice I can offer you is that my phones screen eventually work again after a few days, so I would be interested to know if this is the same for you. Also others who have described similar problems have been advised it relates to a "strip problem", but I do not know what that is. Perhaps this means something that can help you.
