Can't turn ringer volume down

My office has several IBM phones (I believe they are the IBM 412 4 Line corded phones) and we can't seem to figure out how to turn down the ring volume on individual phones. There is a volume button on the phones but this only seems to affect the volume of the phone line not the ringer. This seems like it should have a simple solution...are we blind?

How do you turn the ringer on/off on aatt 993 2 line phone

If you mean the AT&T 993 two-line speakerphone, you can adjust the ringer volume for each line when the phone is not in use. To increase the ringer volume on the primary line (if set), press the Volume Up arrow. To decrease the ringer volume, press the down arrow. There are 8 different volume levels available for the ringer. The Volume Up/Down buttons are below the * and 0 keys.

To adjust the ringer volume on the secondary line, press that line button (between the Conference and Hold buttons) and then press the Volume Up or Down buttons as needed. (If you haven't programmed a primary line, press a Line button and adjust that line's ring volume before pressing the other Line button. Then adjust the volume for that Line.)

I hope this helps. These directions are shown on page 32 of the manual. AT&T currently has the manual here : https://att.vtp-media.com/ecp/documents/product_Product/227/UserManual/5596/993_manual_i14.pdf . I have a new uniden cordless D3097 series phone and I can't figure out how to have the handset ringer on and the base ringer off. When I turn off the base, the handset stops ringing

The Silent button on the D3097 is a global Do Not Disturb button. To reduce the ringer volume, press the Volume Down button on each handset when the phone system is in standby (not in use). When you have pressed the Volume Down button to the point where the ringer is muted, you will see an icon of a bell with a line through it.

See pages 6-7 of the manual for the details. The manual is available here: http://www.101phones.com/content/pdf/uniden/D3097.pdf .

I hope this helps.

I have 4 KX-TG2740 units, each with 2 lines. One unit does not ring for line 1. It says "Ringer Off line 1". I can't figure out how to correct. Thank you.

Press CONF/FUNCTION key, scroll to Ringer Setting by using the up or down arrow of the center navigator key, then press the right arrow. Press the right arrow again at Ringer Volume. Press the down arrow to select Line 1. Press the up or down arrow to choose the ringer volume you want. Press the right soft key SAVE, a confirmation beep will sound.

The ringer volume can also be set while a call is ringing in on the line. Make a call to Line 1 number, use up or down arrow key while phone is ringing to adjust volume of Line 1 ringer.

Phones do not ring

Check the DND button- it's the far right button on the top row. If DND is not on, your ringer volume is probably turned down.

The volume is set independently per line. To set the volume:

1. Press Conf, then using the dialpad, press either 1, 2, 3 or 4 to indicate which line you want to adjust.

2. Press one of the VOLUME buttons to increase or decrease the ringer volume.
