You can hear it turn on and the light turns on then within 3 to 5 second it turns itself off. I just want to know what should I do replace the tv or should I have it service?

This problems it is related to the tv projection lamp. The tv projection lamp is inside the tv now.Been in the tv like a 1 1/2 or 2 years already?Tv is on and used it like 4 or 5 hours daily?Yes,than the tv projection lamp must be replaced should solved this problems. If the tv projection lamp already been replaced, than this problems are caused by the board that call the Ballast board. This Ballast board only job are to ignite the tv projection lamp only.
Your Problem is the Hot transistor, it is short circuit. Causing the tv to go into protection. I f you say this is the second time the same problem tell the technician who works on the tv to replace all the caps on the collector of the Transistor and check the lopttransformercausing the HOT transisistor to fail thank you
Do not under any circumstances buy this TV unless you are a service technician. The people who are trying to sell it to you probably already had to have it fixed once before and "forgot" to tell you. This TV is the definition of Lemon. Tell them you know the thing is gonna break and you'll give them $100 to take it off their hands. Otherwise be prepared to replace the power supply in a couple months and spend tons of money or man hours trying to get this thing to work.
