Click start control panel administration tools computer management device manager scroll to sound video and game controllers you might see a yellow question / exclamation? ! mark or a red X Right click to reinstall drivers

if your computer came with a motherboard disk the drivers could be on it

or you might download slimdrivers

rather doing a driver hunt

http://download.cnet.com/slimdrivers-free/3000-18513_4-75279940.html

note: it will find all of your outdated drivers

this is a free driver solutions

which will automatically search for and find the correct driver

you will have to update every driver individually once you update you might be asked whether you want to restart or make a system restore point click no to both of these then continue

updating each driver free then restart once all of the drivers have been updated

it might take some time being free
hope this helps

SOURCE: No Audio Output Device Installed

Hi

To immediately fix these errors in Vista, start the Windows Audio service as follows:

  1. Click Start c00834869.gif , and enter services.msc into the Start Search field.
  2. From the list of services, right-click Windows Audio and select Start . Figure 23: Starting the Windows Audio service c00847914.gif
  3. The message should no longer open. If the message opens again after the computer is restarted, repeat these steps, select Properties for Windows Audio and set Startup Type to Automatic.
If you have XP on the computer, then click Start-->Run and then type "services.msc" in the Run window and then click OK and once you get the Windows Services screen, follow the above steps.
If this doesnt work and the sound card is not onboard or integrated, then reseat the sound card preferably into a different slot and repeat the above steps.

Audio output device

Hi.

The audio output device in your computer is the audio adapter board (or circuit). This is the device that produces sounds and send them to the speakers.

If you get a message telling you that there is no Audio Output Device detected, or that the Audio Device is not working, that usually means that there is a problem with the audio driver.

In that case the problem is often fixed downloading and reinstalling the drivers for your audio device. If there is a problem with the audio output device, go to the computer manufacturer website (e.g. Dell, HP, Sony etc.) and download the audio drivers for your specific model. When download is complete install the drivers and restart the computer.

Regards.

Problems with audio after installing radeon hd 2400

Hi,

This happens because the video card has hdmi output. Since hdmi output can carry audio signals also, the audio driver gets disabled. Uninstall audio driver and video driver both, install the video driver, and then install audio driver. after installing the audio driver, in playback and recording devices choose choose the audio output device you purchased along with the computer. This should fix the issue.

Revert back for any clarifications.
