Question about Quantum Fireball Lct20 (QML20000LD-A) 20 GB Hard Drive
I need to repair a Quantum hard disk (QML20000LD-A) with some important data on it. I have found the electronic demaged, one smd resistor was broken and lost, so I'd need to know the value of this resistor to replace it. Where can I find some electronic schematics of this hard disk.
Hi, may I offer an alternative solution? You may want to try and replace the entire PCB assembly rather than repair. I would assume that the Quantum QML20000LD-A is a few years old and so many of the same brand/model would be lying around computer repair shops. Even if defective, these drives can be: 1) direct parts source; and 2) remove/use the entire board. You can even find this kind of HD from old CPUs (166-550 MHZ.) I believe you can get them relatively cheap and faster. Hope this somewhat helps. Cheers.
