I blew out a boiler pressure safety valve on a Nuova Simonelli Oscar when pulling a shot. I replaced the valve. When I tried to pull a shot the pressure in the group head barely pushed water through the coffee and the safety valve started to open and close. I took apart the 3 way valve and cleaned it. Still the same problem. Since the grouphead water does not flow into the boiler water, I don't understand how pressure at the group can effect boiler pressure. Could it be the obstruction valve which is supposed to separate the boiler water from the grouphead water? Where is the obstruction valve located, what does it look like?

Either the brew solenoid is bad or the shower screen is blocked or the metering jet on the top of the head is clogged.

Descale boiler and group then make sure steam gauge reads 1.2 bar. If not adjust p.stat.

Your proble is that the coffee group is blocked. There many reason why you have this problem, like the group motor is damage ither the motor or a gear but you have to replace the complete unit. Their is also the posibility that something is bloking the group to complete the full motion, or something might have been bend. Their is also the posibility that the group limit switches to give wrong indication so the machine can not get any move responce. Unless you have experiance with this machines you have to ask professional help since you might damage the whole group system even that the cause is might be a very stubit one.

Could be lack of water in the boiler, could be a faulty pressure stat or vent valve. Check the level probe first, then the vent valve and then the pressure stat. You can also use the manual fill to make sure water is getting to the boiler.

I may have a broken HX tube inside the boiler. I found this forum post:http://www.roaste.com/CoffeeBlogs/EricBN...
