Panasonic pv-gs65 digital video camcorder, nothing happens when I hook up the camcorder to the pc. PC shows message "what do you want windows to do" but nothing is showing in the box to click on.
I have had the camcorder for a few years and have never transferred the movies to PC for DVD copy.
Running windows xp and tried to download the usb drivers version #1 from panasonic website, but this didn't fix the issue either.

You will need a firewire card in your PC and firewire cable to connect your camera to the PC. you will also need a software like Windows movie maker which can help you to transfer videos from your camera to the PC.

Did you put the camcorder in the VCR mode and make sure it is turned on, so you can transfer the video?

there should be a usb port on the camera. below the mic in, under the flap to the right of the on/off.
should be able to get this cable at any office supply/ camera store.
