No longer making Ice

My freezer is no longer making ice, but the lever goes up & down like it's making ice with no problem. The water line still works fine, just can't get it to make any ice.

SOURCE: water leaking onto floor

unplug it again , sounds like your drain line has frozen, instaead of defrost water going down the tube and under refrig in drain pan, becuse tube is frozen its draining into freezer compartment and eventually spilling out through front of unit. totally defrost unit and behind back wall of freezer youll see a metal trough designed to catch water, in the center (under the ice is gonna be the drain hole, pour boiling water down until it runs freely

SOURCE: Trouble with ice-maker

Either the inlet valve is stuck or the icemaker solenoid is shored.

Most likely the second one.

Model #WSF26C2EXY02. Why is ice maker not making ice?

When the ice-tray is full it pushes 'UP' a lever that shuts the water supply off. When you move the lever down all goes back to normal.

Hi have a rs21dcns samsung can any one tell me how long it take to produce ice cubes fo the first time as the manual is not clear about this, and is there any tips i should know thanks

The first time should be on the average of 20-25 minutes. If your samsung is taking longer than 30 minutes, it indicates there is a problem. Fiscally look in the ice tray and verify the water is in there. If not, check and make sure the water line to the unit is connected and the water is supplied to the line. If the water is in the ice tray, then make sure your fill lever is in the down position. This lever is designed to stop making ice when the ice bin is full. If the lever is up, it will stop making ice.

Water dispensor not working on my refrigerator, ice dispensor still working water still filling ice tray.

Either the water line from where water runs to the dispenser is got over friezed or got clogged by ice.In that case use hair dryer to melt the frozen line. But if that is not the case then its faulty water valve. The water valve is a twin entry valve. From one side water goes to ice tray and from other side water goes to water dispenser. But in any case, if one side is working and other side of valve is not working. Then valve as one assembly has to be replaced. The valve is easy to replace and not at all costly part.If the water running line is proper clear, then its confirm valve issue.-----------

Replace the valve. ------------

I just hooked up the ice maker to the water line and put the lever down on the icemaker. The water has not filled the ice maker. Is there something I need to do further? The model # is 596.765 73600

  • here are some things to check for, please be very careful and only to this if you disconnect the power supply.

  • 1 Inspect the shut off arm located on the side of the ice maker. This arm should move up and down with a slight resistance when pushing upward. Make sure that this lever is not frozen to the side of the ice maker preventing it from dispensing ice. In addition, if the arm move loosely up and down, then it is broken and must be replaced.

  • 2 Verify that the ice maker is receiving water. Check the water supply valve which is usually located either behind the refrigerator or under the kitchen sink. The knob should be turned all the way clockwise until it will no longer move.
  • 3 Move the freezer or refrigerator out from the wall and locate the water supply line. This line extends from the water supply valve that was previously located. Make sure there are no kinks or twists in the water supply line as this prevents the ice maker from getting water. Also check for leaks along the supply line which will also prevent the ice maker form working.
  • 4 Locate the manual shut off button for the freezer, if it has one. In some models, the shut off button is located inside the freezer door. If this is the case, simply check to make sure the button is switched to the "on" position. Shut off valves are only on some Kenmore refrigerator/freezer combination appliances.
  • 5 Measure the temperature in the freezer by placing a thermometer inside and allowing it to sit for approximately one hour. If the temperature is higher than 17 degrees F, then something is wrong with the main freezer and not the ice maker.
  • 6 Check the water inlet valve to ensure that is allows water to flow through freely. First turn off the water supply at the water supply valve, usually located under the sink or behind the appliance. Locate the water inlet valve by following the water supply line up to where it attaches to the refrigerator or freezer. Turn the plastic nut at the base of the supply line counterclockwise to detach the supply line. Pull the two or four wires of the water inlet valve off of the terminals. Inspect the wires for burn marks or corrosion. If these are present, it means they must be replaced as water is not being fed to the freezer.
  • good luck

Water freezing on floor of freezer and leaking on to floor in front of freezer?

I have narrowed my similar problem (with a KitchenAid) down to a leak in the ice maker refill line. To test if this is your problem also, scrape the ice out, then turn off your ice maker (raise the lever as if it is full) and see if ice no longer forms down at the bottom over the next few days.

Does the ice maker lever suppose to be up or down to make ice?

Down. It can take up to 24 hours for the first ice to be made on a new installation. Longer if there is a large in line water filter and it was not purged during installation. Additionally... if there is an automatic defrosting problem with the unit it may not make ice at all. The freezer has to be less than 16 deg F to make ice. If you need more assistance just respond to this post and I will gladly help you. If you need unit specific data PLEASE include your model number in any reponse.

Maytag sidebyside MSD2758DRW ice maker won't make ice

    Hi,

If the ice maker no longer make ice, check the following.

Check to see whether the ice maker has been turned off. Here's how to check. Look for a wire along the right side of the ice maker that looks a bit like a coat hanger. If this wire is in the raised position, the ice maker is turned off. On some units you simply lower the wire to the down position to turn the ice maker on.

On others, you lower a small red plastic lever to lower the wire. If the wire is in the proper position check the freezer temperature, it should be between 0-8 degrees Fahranheit. If it is warmer than 10-12 degrees, the ice maker may not produce any ice.

Check your door seals and thermostat, repair/replace as necessary.

    Thanks

Will not dispense ice or water, beeps when lever is pushed, no interior light in frig part. both frig and freezer work, freezer light works

Your inlet tube that goes to the icemaker may be frozen. To Check: Shut off water supply to Fridge, disconnect the water line that goes to the icemaker at top back. Use a flexible item to insert in the water line connection. I used a zip tie. If the flexible item won't all the through to the ice maker, the line is frozen. Thaw out the tube from inside the freezer with a hair dryer. Re-connect everything, you now have ice . . . Solution #2: You may have to replace your "Water Inlet Valve" located at bottom right rear of Fridge. Easy to do, just follow the color codes, be sure and shut off the water.

You need a service guy to look at it. It could be water leaking or a simple case that the flap isnt sealing and the ice melts and then freezes the flap open
