I have a front loading washer that will fill through all cycles, but will not spin at all. I can hear the motor running and see the water filling. When it gets to spin cycle it doesn't tumble or spin. Water will drain and the clothes are soaked. We have checked the belt and it tight. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Apparantly this is a huge issue for this model...
I've been battling the same thing for the past year or so. I think it is the speed control board that is the problem.... well, I'll put it this way. I took the entire thing apart, cleaned everything, and put it back together and nothing changed...
What does seem to work is something to the effect of a baseball bat being used on the (facing the front of the machine) right side of the machine toward the back while the machine is slowly churning clockwise and counter clockwise when it is supposed to be in its spin cycle.... I guess it interrupts the control board as the tumbling will stop, hesitate, and start working...
If you're lucky, it will get the machine to work for the rest of the day... yay.

Re:
Before you try 'spin' only, check to see if your external filter (filter to the drain)in the machine is cleaned out thoroughly) And check to see if the out-water pump is working.

Based off the information you have provided you are hearing a loud screeching noise during the spin cycle on your Electrolux washer. You will hear a certain amount of motor whine during the spin cycle this is a normal operation of your appliance. -Matt
I understand that your Frigidaire washer, model# FTF530ES1, will not spin or agitate. I also see that the door lock light came on so you checked the door latch, due to it not unlocking right away. Now, you have removed the back panel and restarted the cycle, to find out that the motor is not coming on. There is a possibility that it could be the motor, or it could be something completely different that is causing your washer to not spin or agitate. I suggest contacting your local authorized technician for further assistance. They will be able to diagnose your washer and determine why it is not spinning. I hope this is helpful.
When the washer initially fills for the wash, is it only hot water entering the drum? Try switching the water temperature between hot and cold as it fills. If any of them show little or no water getting through, it sounds too easy but check to make sure water supply taps are on, and that the cold/hot fill hoses aren't reversed. Remove the fill hoses and check any of the screen filters for blockage (in the hoses and in the inlet water valve). When the machine stops and waits to fill but all you hear is a hum, it sounds like there is power going to the valve but water is not able to get through it. Good luck!
you can check two things,. One is, is the belt broken or stretched, the other is the motor, is the motor turning if the motor is turning then replace the belt. If the motor is not turning replace the motor.
Your symptoms that indicates a broken motor coupler. If your washer will
drain and fill but has not agitation action or spinning action that
would indicate a broken motor coupler. The motor coupler links the
drive motor to the transmission.
Cant understand how the machine will revolve on the 'spin cycle' & yet you can hear the motor on the 'wash cycle' but yet it doesnt revolve!!
Nomally if the water fills, & the tub revolves without the programmer advancing, its because the heater is not working. ie faulty thermostat, heat element, or maybe a wire burned off in the 'heater circuit'. Check if you have 240 volts at both ends of the heat element, with a meter or 240 volt bulb
!! BE CAREFUL OF 240VOLTS!!
