The video one will not go off in the upper left corner of the screen, i see alot of people with the same problem and the answer is normally to take the original remote and press the display button but my problem is that i do not have the original remote and cant find a way to turn it off though the tv.

Original TV remote is only solution or compromise on video-1 display as an alternate.
barrow original Sony TV remote from friend / neighbors, if available, press display button and return the remote.

How do I turn off the "video 1" display in the upper left-hand corner?

With almost any Sony remote with the button marked display this can be done---if left on too long it will burn the image into the screen of the set.

The Video selection display in the upper left corner will not turn off. I cannot find the original remote is there any other way to turn it off?

You need a SONY tv remote comander to de-select this function. You can use any remote from SONY TV or LCD with "on screen info" button.

I can't get Video 1 off in the upper left corner of my Sony Wega TV,

Contrary to some opinions, you totally can. You only need to locate the "display screen information" button on your remote (on mine, it is at the very top, second on the left) and hit it once. Screen information will disappear. It took me a while to figure this out, but I am relieved that it eventually worked

No picture or sound

If the screen displays VIDEO 1 then the set is in video 1 mode, looking for a signal on the video 1 input jacks. Press the TV/VIDEO button on the remote (or the set itself if it has it) and cycle around to the input you are actually using.
