Monitor wont stay on once opened all the way

I would change the struts - the opening motor can't handle the excessive weight.

Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You may have failure in the power supply, or inverter back light circuits, you need to open it up and inspect the inside for such thing as bad caps, fuse, etc,. See example of failed monitors due to failed components: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums

It sounds like there's a problem with the monitor itself. It may be that the lamp in the computer is dying, which would explain why it keeps going out. Other possibility is that the monitor isn't receiving power properly either through the cable or inside the monitor itself.

If your're not the kind of person who wouldn't mind opening the monitor up and hopping in there, then I recommend you take it somewhere it can be diagnosed like Best Buy.

hi, there is some loose contact in the connection. Take out the cable end from the VGA socket and check the pins inside the socket for any bend inside the socket. Reconnect it, tight the connector with the socket bolts. If not solved, try for any loose solder or wire breake.
