Hi. I am having trouble with my talkabout radio. It recieves all the other radio's calls, but when it sends a call the other radio only gets the call beep and then static. is this a mic problem, or is it just a compatability issue? The other radio is a 2003 Cobra Micro, 14 channels, no privacy codes. Please help me, and thank you for your time.
Hello, There is not compability issue, sounds like you have a mic problem because you hear the Roger Beep and that means that the transmition and Reception cicle is working if you could test an audio accesorie would be great.
There is another possibility if one of the radios is out of frequency you could experiment the same symtoms.

Likely not compatible. One thing to try is to make certain the transmitting unit is turned OFF when you initially plug in the headset. Sometimes if a headset is plugged into a radio when it is already ON, the headset will appear to be in VOX (voice activated) mode and will not allow the user to receive. Also, if this headset has an inline PTT, it may not be compatible with the radio and you would need to use the PTT on the radio.
If this doesn't work, you would need to use the TalkAbout headset designed for the MR350.
You need to check your interference eliminator code. It sounds like they are not set to the same code. Also, if your radio has a Qt filter, set it to zero.
You can find a user manual by choosing your radio model from the list on this page: http://www.giantintl.com/motorolafrsold.htm It will give you the instructions to program your radio.
First check your batteries. Try the battery pack from a known good radio. If you do not have a battery problem, your issue is probably non-reversible. Sorry. This style radio is non-repairable. The repairable Talkabout units include the Distance, Distance DPS, the TA-7400 and TA-7200.
I have seen some problems with new out of box radios, one of them is out of frequency and recieve with noise and works with low range coverage.
I can not clarify what you mean with feed back, check if you set in low volume if the radio works fine.
That will tell you that the speaker or the Synth circuitry has a problem.
