CarGurusJan 27, 2014 - Alright well normally I can feel my truck shift into drive or reavers but it's not but .... running while won't move,I mean it moves but won't change gear,fluids good ... I have a 2002 Mercury Stabler Car starts up fine but will not move ... I hear a pop and my tahoe stops pulling and no reverse either it just revs up.
make sure your transmission fluid level not low if fluid level okay. other possible causes for transmission wont shift out of second could have stuck or faulty first and second shift valve.code scan for faulty VSS SPEED SENSOR.
there is adjustment down on the ******. I will send you a picture, what you will need to do it put on the e brake,and block the tires. on the drivers side of the ****** the shift cable is located, pop off the cable from the arm and pull the white clip, when push the arm foward that is park,and then easily pull the cable to the arm and put back the white clip
No 1st or 4th available; trans shifts 2nd to 3rd by itself in D or OD and locks the converter : ShiftA solenoid failed. Easy fix in the pan. Or a wiring problem from PCM to trans.. or PCM.
check your rear brake shoes if you had them changed recently they may not have been adjusted properly and that sometimes will cause that and also check the rear diff yoke where the driveshaft goes insometimes it get gear oil on it and harder for it turn. i would try these hints first before i take to shop
