Question about Amana ACE208 Convection/Microwave Oven

Volume control My work recently purchased a second hand convection microwave which looks similar to an Amana ACE 208 (although I'm not 100% sure of the model) It didn't come with a manual, and the alert when it finishes cooking is very loud. Is there a way to change the volume setting?

it's actually a menu master jet wave (later aquired by amana) Would it still be factory set? The volume is so loud it's an oh&s issue so if there's any way I can fix it i'd be grateful

It's ok, I found a manual.. There's a hidden panel which allows you to change the factory settings. Thanks for trying though.

Is there something else I can do before purchasing a convection motor for the Amana ACE 14 convection express combo oven. The convection motor hums and turns very slowly but will not spin when turned

Well, running that slow makes it a serious fire hazard, it needs the air circulating to spread and dissipate the heat. Other than having a pro look at it, I would take it apart and clean all the moving parts, esp. the fan motor/drive and fan blades. Dust, fibers, lint etc. can build up very quickly when near an intake port. If the surface of any component is oily it makes the build-up even worse. I've saved a ton of money by doing this, the latest example being a dishwasher that was going to be thrown away. I cleaned and re-assembled it and it worked great, they are using it to this day. The same thing applies to computers, laptops aren't too bad, but towers are a different story. If you haven't opened up your computer lately, or ever, you should do so. I think you'd be surprised. Hope this helped. Grim

Microwave heating not working. convection is fine

Therer could be many causes for this and will need to be looked at by a qualified repair tecnician, I would suggest that you ask for a quote first as the repair could be simple of very expensive.

Hope this helps

I got this microwave in my house, but its not working. all the buttons are not working accept stop/cancel button. please send me the sollution.

I have a similar microwave that I recently repaired. NN-9854 (bad capacitor). So your microwave functions but you cant stop it unless you unplug it, it ends its cycle, or you open the door? Does it beep when pressed? If not, you need a new control pad.

Ace 208 comes up with "hot" in display amana tech say not possible no code like this

Hello I“ve repaired a couple of ACE208 with hot message in the display. The problem is in the convection fan located on the back of the oven cavity, turn the oven on and quickly open the door and look inside to see if the fan is spinning (slowing down, the fan stopps when you open the door but you can see it slowing down) if it is not spinning the supporting screws of the fan sometimes loosen up causing the fan to hit the oven walls preventing the fan to spin freely -probably before the problem started to happen you could hear a loud noise- the fan can“t move the air throgh the warming elements causing them to overheat hence the hot message. The fan motor rarely fails so all you need to do is remove the stainless steel cover and the back black cover and tighten the mounting screws of the convection fan and clean it if it“s dirty. Hope this helps, both the ovens with hot message I have repaired get the green tag just by doing this or replacing the motor, I have no knowledge of other problems that may cause this.

Amana OTR Convection Microwave runs 59 seconds and shuts off

This sounds like either a thermistor or a damper switch/motor problem.
Amana's technical support line is 866-426-2621. This is the commercial side but they should be able to get you in touch with the domestic side.
