Question about Itronix (FEX21-192)
DURING BOOT UP COMPUTER SAYS NTLDR NOT FOUND AND STOPS AT THAT POINT! HOW CAN I FIX?
When the computer boots up and says NTLDR missing it can mean several things, but all of the problems are usually attributed to something wrong with the hard drive/filesystem. I assume your notebook was fully functional before. If that is the case: 1.) Your file system may be corrupted / damaged. Try booting from the Windows XP cd. The go to Recovery console.(R) follow the instructions on screen until you reach a prompt (i.e. C:\WINDOWS\) then type "chkdsk c: /r" (without the quotes). This is basically running a disk check with XP builtin utility and the /r is saying to do a full scan and fix problems if encountered. If you get an error that says "unrecoverable errors encountered" then your hard drive is pretty much damaged. If it goes all the way through then there is still some hope. 2.) Your hard drive may be failing and if important data is on there you may need to plug it up in another system to try some data recovery. Well I'll need some more information to make a better analysis! Try the chkdsk and tell me the results! Regards, Babb
