Microstar broadband router RG54G2 wireless 11g. i forgot my password. how to reset?

Press and hold red reset button on back of unit for 30 seconds

Just press the reset button on the back of the router for about 30 seconds and then the settings will be back to defaults. You will lose internet connection by then, just call your internet provider so that you can let them register the router in their end. Tell them that the modem needs to recognize the router.

if you havnt changed the password to the router then it should either be "PASSWORD" "ADMIN" "ADMINASTRATOR" in the worst case senreio you may have to reset the router.

well that is ok routers are tricky and no 2 are the same.

first off you said IP, but that is a WWAN IP not in the home
a reset router turns off (i look first) wwan IP pings, and the the firewall in the router is fully up and no ports open.
wps off and pin off, use real credentials with complex pw or it will be hacked, from curb or hood folks near by are they?

and use no wep mode ., only WPA1,2 and 3 or wpa2 up. only

if that test passes, then local wifi is a mess. and told here.
but wifi side is the hard one.( bad neighbors?)

make sure all pCs have firewall active.
if using shares, I don;t full time but my video server is read only just in case.

please follow the following steps:
1) Click Start > run > cmd > ipconfig (enter) and note down the Deafult gateway should be some numbers like 192.168.1.1 etc 2) Open internet explorer and type those numbers in the address bar and press enter 3) now you will get the router page, login with following details username: admin password: admin or password 4) and in wireless settings you can find the password (WEP) to connect the IPhone

Initially, to your queries:

• instruction book - pls click here;
  
• passwords - open a browser, the MSI RG54G2 web interface is 192.168.1.254, password is "admin", less the quotes;
• iPod touch - will auto detect your MSI
  
• setting on my router - if allows your computer(s) to access the Internet, no further settings required;
  
• iPod can connect to the internet - if no WEP or WPA is set on the MSI router.

This is of course assuming that the MSI RG54G2 is allowing your computers to access the Internet lready and will be shared to the iPod Touch.

If it's the password to login to the adminitration page(GUI) of the router your pertaining to, then the only way to solve it is to reset the router to factory settings(Press and Hold the reset button on the router for 30 seconds, release the reset button and wait for the power LED to go solid). Now if it's the WEP or WPA key or encrytion key for you wireless connection, Open the router's Admin page using another computer that is connected to the router or hardwire the same computer to any of the 4 Ethernet(LAN) port on the baack of the router. Open Internet Explorer and enter the router's IP address on the address bar(by default it's 192.168.1.1) then you'll get a pop up windows asking for the router's by default there is no username and the password is "admin".

Connect modem to the internet port of the wrt54g
Connect pc to port 2 of the wrt54g
Reset the wrt54g, push reset button for 30seconds with the power on, uplug the power for 10 seconds
Open internet explorer, type 192.168.1.1, you will be asked to login, no username, password is admin. This will take you to the router page. On the page you will se AUTOMATIC CONFIGURATION DHCP, change that to PPPOe, enter your broadband username and password. Click save settings at the buttom of the page. YOU WILL ONLY GET CONNECTION IF YOUR USERNAME AND PASSWORD IS CORRECT.

The reset button might have to be held in for 10 seconds or more and should reset to default, but the password if you have not changed it; could be 'admin'.
