I would suggest looking over the power supply for bulging capacitors. Had the same issue and the power supply needed to be changed.

SOURCE: Samsung 61" DLP 3 Blinking lights.

all 3 lights blinking means lamp has a fault the service manual says replace the lamp. If you need the service training manual for that model let me know and I will post the link as the training manual has excellent trouble shooting breakdowns for that model DLP

SOURCE: Very noisy when turned on, then shuts down, Samsung 61 inch

That certainoy sounds like the color wheel assembly inside of the light engine is bad. The light engine is located here http://www.samsungparts.com/part_detail.asp?catalog%5Fname=Parts+and+Accessories&product%5Fid=BP96%2D00674A&search%5Fmodel=HLP4663W Good Luck

I have the exact same problem, TV stared doing it about 12 days ago, I ordered and replaced the Lamp, it still does the same thing...

""Lamp" light flashes for 20 seconds and then you hear PS clicking, repeats cycle 3 times before it shuts off and all 3 lamps flash!"

SOURCE: Samsung 50" DLP - Lamp Light Blinking after bulb replacement

Listen closely. The tv should make a high pitch whine as it turns on. If it does wait and see if it tries this a few times. If yes then check the bulb, I have seen cases where the lamp shoves the power connector back into the set. If the tv starts with a grown or heavy vibration noise, then your color wheel may have broken and needs replaced.

I have a samsung hl-s6187w 61 inch and it keep shutting off.. the screen goes black but i still have sound for about 5 sec then shuts off.. can anyone tell me what the problem is?

I doubt it's the color wheel. When our wheel went bad the TV didn't come on at all. It could be the lamp. Try reseating it first. That fixed a problem the first time for us. Later we had to replace the lamp because the TV was getting dark. It could also be your ballast, but we've never had to change that. I'd start with the lamp.

Why does my samsung 61" DLP Standby/Temp and Lamp light flashes 29

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

Our tv was shutting off within 10 min of turning it on. 3 lights would then start blinking. We replaced the lamp today and it is still turning off within 10 min of being turned on. We checked the door to...

If turning the lamp on fails, the set automatically tries turning the lamp on 3 times. If all attempts fail, all LED's on the front panel will blink. Check the lamp and the ballast and replace them, if necessary.
Check lamp fan too, make sure fan is rotate smoothly. Thanks.

Randomly shuts off

which leds blink = error code

no error code = bad digital main board
all 3 leds = engine error = likely lamp but could be ballast, colorwheel, or dmd board

you have the same problem I have. The problem is fixed by changing the new light bulb. The problem appears again after 1500 hours of use. You can keep buying new light bulbs or avoid it by not buying another Samsung TV.
