Timex digital heart rate monitor

I recently purchased a used heart rate monitor. it is a Timex and the number on the back is 593. there were no operating instructions. I cant figure out how it works...This is the only site I keep getting redirected to. The image for the Timex 5D721 matches it visually. The Timex site I wasn't able to get to from the web address. Can anyone help? Thanks Maggie

to shutoff HR out of range alarm - when selecting the ranges in the HRM Steup mode - press the START/SPLIT button to toggle the alarm on and off. (use the start/stop button on the pro fitness model). page 14 in my manual

SOURCE: Timex heart rate monitor does not keep correct BPM. I changed the battery, now the heart rate hovers in the 30' and 40's, never getting to the correct BPM

Make sure the back of the watch is spotless and your skin isn't too dry.

Hi, Almost any large dealer like Wal-Mart, Sears, or Target will have Timex replacement straps and bands for most popular watches and monitors. Sometimes a local Authorized Dealer will have specialized products that the department stores don't even carry without ordering.

I have had good luck with Wal-Mart on watch accessories. I've also ordered straight from Timex in Little Rock, Arkansas, ph. 1-800-448-4639, but it usually takes more time for just parts.

I cannot get my 64 kg weight set on my heartrate monitor. It toggles between lb and kg but only goes up to 5 something (3 digits) but not 64.5 kg. What am I doing wrong?

Timex M515 Heartb Rate Monitor in correct readings
I´m experienced the same problem of incorrect readings after a long time without use. I cleaned the rubber parts of the chest strap with soap and water, than I use some silicone grease or other silicon liquid to keep the rubber hydrated. Make a careful cleaning in the contact area between the rubber and the plastic parts, the fissure in these area use to be full of "sweat dust".
