Hi, I have had PT-53TW53G for more than 2 years, never had any problems with it. Let me explain what is happening with a TV now: After I press the Power button TV makes (as usual) start-up click and then after 6-7 sec shuts down (again clicks). Then power led blinks 3 times, no picture, no sound.
If anybody have any ideas, please?
Had the same problem with mine and I replaced horizontal deflection transistor located by the high voltage tranformer, its the big transistor by the heatsink, check for any shot and replace if you find problem. worked for me

the 3 blink error means the convergence has failed and has shut the set down. You can get the convergence repair kit for your model at the following link www.tvrepairworld.com The kit contains the parts and the Cd with detailed instructions
just got back today for same problem. convergence went out. took to repair shop. $200 part plus $60 labor. second time in a year convergence went out. was told it will happen again.
5 Blinks means IC4511 thats located on the DG board which is the small board on the left side in front of the signal board looking in from the rear of the set.
If the front power light is blinking three times then your TV has a problem with the convergence. You can get the correct replacement parts and full step by step photo instructions from www.TvRepairKits.com
Did you ever find anything out about this? I have a pt-53tw53g with the exact same problem, and I've been unable to find out what the three flashes means.
