Missing Internet Explorer Favorites

In Internet Explorer 7, I can't get Favorites to save. I have tried the reset option under Tools. In the registry, no Favorites folder was listed, so I fixed that per directions on another web site. I still can't create favorites or quick links.
The system is clean of spyware and viruses.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

I see favorites on the toolbar as an option. That's not the problem. When I go to add a favorite, it doesn't let me add the page as an favorite.

Facebook won't open. Internet Explorer error pops up &

This is a problem with the computer, more specifically with the browser you are using.

It seems that some addon required for facebook in not correctly working.
You can reset the browser (note: it deletes passwords and history of websites you have visited but favorites will remain there).

Procedure for this is below:
  1. Open Internet Explorer 7.
  2. Click Tools, and then click Internet Options.
  3. Click the Advanced tab.
  4. Under Reset Internet Explorer Settings, click Reset.
If that does not fix it, run antivirus scan. Let me know for further clarification or further assistance. I will be glad to help.

Problems opening links in Outlook 2003

The most common cause is a corrupt registry key in Internet Explorer. The registry key found at
HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\Classes\htmlfile\shell\open\command
is either damaged or corrupt.
To fix it, try resetting Web settings in Internet Explorer. If this does not resolve the issue, set IE as
the default browser.
To Reset Web settings:
Internet Explorer 6
Start Internet Explorer 6.
On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
Click the Programs tab, and then click the Reset Web Settings button.
Under Internet programs, verify that the correct e-mail program is selected.
Click to select the Internet Explorer should check to see whether it is the default browser check box.
Click Apply, and then click OK.
You may receive the following message when Internet Explorer starts:
Internet Explorer is not currently your default browser. Would you like to make it your default browser?
If you receive the message, click Yes.
Internet Explorer 7
Start Internet Explorer 7.
On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
Click the Advanced tab, and then click Reset.
Click the Programs tab, and then click Set programs.
Click Set Default Programs.
Click to select Microsoft Outlook, and then click Set this program as default.
Click OK, and then close the Default Programs dialog box.
In the Internet Options dialog box, click the Programs tab, and then click Make default under Default web browser.
Click OK.

Click Start, and then click Run.

Copy the Exported registry key to the desktop on the problem computer.
Double-click the .reg file.

Default internet explorer home page

Here are some things you can try. It sounds like you have picked up a snoop and some can go as deep as your system registries.
In IE go to the Tools>Internet Options>Programs>Manage Add-ons and see if there is any reference to that site there. If not there is a last resort possible fix, once again Tools>internet Options>Advanced then press reset at the bottom, this will set the browser back to new.

Hope this helps...
