It looks like it might just snap into place. Of course that means you have to remove the broken bits which may require a drill, small bit and needle nose pliers.

SOURCE: Lost Spool pin and cap for QuikStitch SP-402

Welcome to FixYa. If you have a spool stand, that might work as long as you can thread the machine properly (give it a try!). When the thread is placed on the machine's spool pin, the spool cap keeps the thread in place and helps the thread unwind evenly - so if you are using a spool pin, you really do need a spool cap.

If the spool stand works, you are good to go. If you need to order replacement parts, I've provided a link the manufacturer's website. From there, you can contact customer support and find out if parts are available. If you can't order replacement parts, ask customer service if the machine is compatible with another brand. Another option would be to buy a spool pin and cap at a sewing machine dealer. Take the machine with you and and make sure the parts fit before you buy them.

Here's the link to the site I mentioned:

SOURCE: My son broke the spool pin and I can not find a

You didn't throw away the piece did you? You can get a fiberglass repair kit at the automotive store, mix a little up and use it as glue. You may have to tape it together for a little while but then it will be like new.

SOURCE: I have a singer machine.

Do you have the manual with it, refer to this to find out if the spool is removable.

if you don't have one, then go to http://www.singerco.com/accessories/manuals.html, type in your model number and click "search" to find it.

Some machines will have two spool holders so you can twin sew but as long as you have one left the machine is useable.

What causes thread shredding/breakage on the top part of the machine? I guess near or on the tension? I have a Brother Quattro.

If you're using the horizontal spool pin, be sure the spool is inserted onto the spool pin in the proper orientation. Per the manual; Set the thread spool on the spool pin so that the thread unwinds from the front of the spool.

Horizontal spools require the spool cap be equal or greater in size than the spool diameter. Using a smaller cap may result in the thread snagging on the spool edge.

Be sure to follow threading instructions exactly.

Always try different manufacturer thread to eliminate the possibility of weak or bad thread.

How to take back off bernia 1090

It doesn't sound quite right to have to remove the back cover to replace the spool pin. Most metal pins just pull out or push in, although there are some that the pin has a screw thread. But my older Berninas have a smooth metal pin. Just a thought...

The upper part of the right spool pin broke off. I ordered a new pin but am unable to remove the old one to replace it. How do you remove the spool pin?

Depends on your machine brand and model. Some pins simply unscrew and others pull out. Probably best to look at the replacement pin you purchased.

Bernina artista 180 bottom stitch bunching

bunching under the material is bird nesting is a result of loose needle thread tension thread the machine up to the point of threading the needle
pull on the thread and you should have a reasonable resistance to pulling the thread
adjust the tension until you get that then thread the needle
while you may be using the tension settings if there is a problem in the tension plates area , the tension will not get high enough regardless of the indicated setting
bobbin tension can be reasonably loose
correct tension is when both threads meet at the center of the materials being sewn

How do i take the case off my brother xr-65 to replace my spool pin and spool cap

I don't have that particular Brother but I have on that is similar.

Start by taking all of the screws out of the back that you can find (they're in deep holes, so look carefully). Then look at the bobbin area and you'll probably find one more. Finally, take the feet off of the bottom of the machine (not the presser foot, the feet that sit on the table), you'll likely find that there is a screw through the middle of the foot that also holds the case in place.

Best of luck

How do I pull up the spool pin?

from the questions I read, this has happened to alot of people.
normally the spool pin should be easy to pull up with 2 fingers, if it's not then most likely there could be something wrong, you can try to use a pair of pliers to pull the spool pin up,, but if it's come loose or broke then it will have to be replaced. and some sewing machine are not mint to be opened by anyone except a factory trained technican.

How do you replace the spool pin on a babylock ellure sewing machine

Place the cone of thread on your right, at the back of the machine. Bring the thread up and behind the bobbin winder spindle. (where the bobbin sits) Place the largest spool cap on the empty horizontal spool pin and take the thread through the hole of the spool cap. From this point thread the machine normally. This and many other common questions are found on this link click here http://www.babylock.com/support/FAQ/?FAQ=2 If you have any further questions message me back Thanks Rick
