My brother screw'd up my pc, when i try to use it it doesnt start, when i press Alt+F10 to start the eRecovery process it ask for the password, i dont have the password because i bought the pc from a previous co-worker. please help me with some sort of way to gain access to the recovery program
It sounds like the e-recovery would be run using a Ghost Image and the password on the image can be removed with the right software but youle have to access the hdd on a different computer in order to see the image. alternatively you could just load from any windows XP cd either home or pro and use the key on the bottom of the laptop because thats your license. after install or before you should download the drivers from your models laptop from the acer support web site.

Did you try the default password of 6 zeroes?

You can download the software for the Acer using a laptop that has Vista; that's no issue. All that's happening is your browser is connecting with the site and downloading to (some) hard drive. The site doesn't really know (or care) what OS is behind the browser (unless, of course, you're installing, rather than downloading, something).
