Question about Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-S40 Digital Camera

Help me with my digital camera! pleaseeeeee

Hi, I have a Sony digital camera says "cyber-shot U" in the front, so I guess that's the model, then 2.0 megapixels in the upper part and I have been using it for a long time with no problem at all. recently I may have disconnected it from the USB cable off the computer without first doing the "safely remove hardware step" and even though I used it afterwards I haven't been able to use it anymore. When I open it it does not turn on, I tried different batteries but without results. I try connecting it again to the computer (several ones) and they don't detect the device while normally they did, the power button blinks, like it did before but before after blinking a couple times it turned on and then the computer detected it and now it's not happening, I noticed that a red light blinks too, I hadn't notice this before and I think that's trying to say there's some kind of problem, when I remove the memory stick (512 mb) the red light stops blinking. There is a little reset button on the bottom of the camera and I tried clicking it for 10 sec. or more but nothing happened, except the power button goes off while I'm pushing the reset button and then when I let go it starts blinking again as does the little screen. I have some important pictures in my memory stick and I wouldn't want to loose them, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help me... I would really really appreciate it. Hope to hear from you soon. Thanks

Hi there, please purchase (or borrow) the new memory stick in order to check whether the old one is OK. When you try the new memory stick, please give me the feedback info. Best regards, Arpi

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-S750 Digital Camera

Hi.

I guess that you are just looking for the instructions, so here is a link to a page where you can choose free downloads for both the instruction manual, and the user guide:-

http://www.retrevo.com/support/Sony-DSC-S750-Digital-Cameras-manual/id/13744ag302/t/2/

I hope that helps but, if that is not what you need, could you say a bit more about any problem you have experienced?

Hi i have sony h7 and wan to reset to factory

Cyber-shot cameras nowadays have a built-in rechargeable battery for retaining time, date, and other settings. Since the built-in rechargeable battery is not removable, current Cyber-shot camera models can only be returned to the original factory settings by pressing a small RESET button on the camera or by using an Initialize option in the menu.
Older-model Cyber-shot cameras (prior to the year 2000) do not have a built-in rechargeable battery and do not have a RESET button or Initialize option in the menu. These cameras require a manual power reset.
IMPORTANT: To determine whether or not your camera has a RESET button or Initialize option, or for other model-specific information to complete any of the steps in this solution, refer to the operating instructions supplied with the product. Manuals are available online in the Manuals/Specs/Warranty section of the Sony® eSupport Web site.
Follow the appropriate procedure below for your camera.
Using an Initialize option in the menu
Since Cyber-shot cameras have different menu system layouts, refer to the instruction manual specific for your camera model.
Using a RESET button
  1. Locate the RESET button on the camera.
  2. Use a pointed object (like a ballpoint pen) to press and hold the RESET button for 2-3 seconds.
  3. After 2-3 seconds has elapsed, release the RESET button.
Performing a manual power reset
  1. Turn off the camera.
  2. Remove the battery pack.
  3. Remove the button-sized lithium battery.
  4. Allow the camera to remain without power for 30 seconds.
  5. Reinsert the button-sized lithium battery.
  6. Reinsert the battery pack.
  7. Turn on the camera.

Hi,
Click Sony Support and put model number in search bar to download instructional manual copy.

White Display on Screen

I fixed the camera myself as follows:

1. Hold camera firmly in left hand
2. Smartly rap front of camera with knuckles of right hand on the "Cyber-shot" logo.

It worked, now the LCD is working again for free.

Guess I don't need to pay Sony $111.00 for repair service.

Best Regards .

Warning signal just before I shot pic

Hi

It means there is not enough light and you will probably end up with a blurry photo if you don't use the flash.

Good luck

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-F717 5.0 Megapixel

Hi Bella

That code means that the lens unit was unable to move from home position to switch on position.

These lens are extremely complex and I doubt if you could find someone able to repair the lens.

Therefore I suggest contacting Sony to find a accredited dealer to quote you on replacement of the lens.

My guess is it will cost half of what you originally paid for the camera.

Good luck.
