Question about Samsung SH-W162C 16x16x8x6x5x4 DVD +/- R/RW/DL DVD Burner, OEM Drive w/ Software (SHW162C) Burner
I have a Samsung DVD SH-W162 writer. It shows up in Device manager. When I put a cd or dvd in it, it looks like it is searching the disk, but eventually locks my system up. I am using Win XP SP2. I have tried to download the latest drivers for it. I have uninstalled it and let it install with Windows drivers, but no change. I have put it on its own cable as Master. Still nothing. I plug a different drive in and it works fine.Any ideas?
Sounds like you have done all you possibly can, it may well be that the drive has finally given up and a replacement is neccasary. You can try to repair the autorun .inf file, but i think a replacement. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=C680A7B6-E8FA-45C4-A171-1B389CFACDAD&displaylang=en Sorry!
