Panasonic PT40LC12 - Blinking green power light - no lamp fire up.

Lamp is new, Push power on and only get green flashing light. Fans are working. No lamp fire up. Opened unit and found all fuses ok. Found that the thermistor/temp measuring device is suspect, no resistance across legs. There is a label there that says F701 see service manual - Need to get another thermistor/device - do you have the part number? On the thermistor/component itself is written: L3 TAM 250V 5A Tf 115c (centigrade) 013 Thanks Tom

One has to take the set apart to replace. Do it yourself only if you have the skills and abilities to do basic repair of electronic equipment!

Lamp never fires Unit goes right to cool/shutdown.

The ballast might have gone bad, you'll need to check the output voltage of it. In some projectors, the power supply/ballast are combined as one PCB instead of 2 separate boards.

When I turn the power on all I get is a blinking green power light and nothing else. The lamp is new.

Have you checked the thermal Fuse that is located right above Lamp? These sets had problems
with Thermal Fuse. Is all of the Fans working ? Lamp Fan?
Ballast board is what powers Lamp on. You need to also check 2 thermistors, they are known to be bad.

You have to close the lamp door. It has a switch in it much like a clothes dryer door in that when it is open it wont operate.
