Same Deal-Cricket beeping sound when plugged, Dead TV

I see from other requests that have not been answered that the model GE #46GW947 has the same problem as mine. This is something that needs to be addressed and ask why this problem has not been answered. I need to fix it myself or go to the repair shop with knowledge of what is the problem so I do not get ripped off. Please help me and others with this problem! One day my TV was on and when I left the room it just went out, now there is a soft cricket beeping sound from the back of the set (big screen 36in) when plugged in. I have taken the back off but cannot locate exactly where the sound is coming from. Please help with this as it seems I am not the only one asking about this problem. Thank you in advance for your help, Ksessums

The chirping sound you hear is normally the regulator circit trying to start up. It needs a signal returning from the high voltage transformer to turn it on. The reason the regulator cicuit is not working varies: The horizontal output is shorted, usually caused by a bad transformer in this model. The focus block goes out in this model quite a bit. The secondary of the power supply may have a missing voltage. I have found that there is no horizontal pulse coming from the drive circuits. Sometimes the regulator circuit itself has an issue. Either way, there are so many problems that can cause the regulator to chirp, diagnostics may be tricky.
