Your set may need to have a screen control adjustment.
This adjustment is on the high voltage transformer and the back cover will have to be removed a access it. I'm assuming that your set has a picture tube in it- not a plasma or LCD display.
If this is the case you can remove the back cover and adjust this control while observing the picture being shown. If you adjust it too high you'll get retrace lines (fine lines going accross the screen). If you're not comfortable doing this or inexperienced, you might want to get a technician to adjust it for you. There are dangerous voltages inside!

if you are doing flash photography you will have to limit the shots to a distance of 10-15 feet to get nicely lit pics. also try setting the exposure compensation to +2 to brighten up the pic. Also are you shooting on manual ???
Show a torch light on the screen for a distance, and if you can see the picture, the backlight is not lighting up. Check for its settings on the remote, if you have that option. Check also the settings of brightness/contrast/sharpness/color. If you still have problems, please call in a qualified service technician.
Changing the contrast will also help brighten your screen. For best results, try changing the contrast and the brightness, to find the perfect combination for your needs.
when i go to take a picture or a video it comes out dark. you can't hardly see the person i took the
picture too. It's very fustrating not knowing how to fix the matter. all those buttons are not helpng at all. Can i get any suggestions on how i can make the pictures come out brighter?
sitnlisten - yes it does appear your pix tube is getting weak, but we may be able to turn up the flyback alittle to brighten up the picture. If you take the back off you will see the flyback-large black unit with a wire going to the round rubber cap on the back of the pix tube.Look at the flyback there are usually 2 adjusters one marked focus the other screen, just turn up the screen a little bit at a time.If you turn this up too much you will wind up with retrace lines on the screen. You may also want to check the pcboard ass'y for a sub bright adjust, and same thing small adjustments. If this don't help your pix tube may be too far gone.I hope this helps. cooltek Feb.1/08
Hi
This could be one of three possibilities, one the High Voltage Screen Adjustment is off, Two the Picture Tube is Weak, or Three there is a problem with the Video Drive Amp/Amps, these are things that should be checked or adjusted by a qualified technician, especially the High Voltage Screen Adjustment, hope this helps.
