you are seeing it strongly connected to the ROUTER---try unplugging the router for a few minutes and plug it back in----Does the netbook "SEE" the network? entered correct ssid? Is the wireless switch enabled on the netbook?
if you do then you will need to enter the password to connect to.
if you have purchased the laptop from somone else, you will need to remove their settings, by going into intenet options, connections and then lan settings
Given the Acer sees the network, the times I have been frustrated connecting a new computer to a wireless network, it's usually been something very simple. I have forgotten one setting, transposed a letter or number. Go back through and make sure everything is exactly right.
You need to buy a wireless router. It will connect to your modem and broadcast a wireless signal. Once your wireless network is set up you can connect your laptop to it.
try repair network connection, go to start, network connections, right click on wireless connection, click on repair, if that doesnt work, try reinstall driver
