Catriver was right on the mark. Took a little bit of doing but I was able to fix the problem myself within 30 mins, and saved some money. Many thanks. I'd like to expand Catriver's solution a bit.

I found a layer of lint on the inside bottom of my dryer. With the face off of the dryer, it proved to be a good time to vacuum the lint out and reduce the potential of fire.

John, put all the screws back in the back. You are going to get it from the front. Remove the screws that hold the door in place. Lift up on door and slide the hinges out. Remove the two screws and spacers on the opposite side. Now pull the front panel forward and off. Now you will see two hold down brackets that secure the top. Loosen the screws and slide the brackets to the inside. Now the top will lift up and you can get at the screws for the baffles. Just rotate the drum till it's on top. Catriver..post back

Maytag neptune dryer one of the dividers the screws came loose how can I fix this without calling for service

You are probably referring to the drum baffles. The baffles securing screws can be retightened by raising the top which requires the removal of the front panel. Click on the link below for the detailed steps.

The beater bar in my Neptune dryer modeL # MED5500AYW has come off and needs to be replaced.

It sounds like you are referring to the drum baffles when you say "beater bar". If that is so, you need to remove the front panel then raise the top cover to access the baffles mounting screws outside the drum. Below is the link to the procedure I posted previously.

As dryer rotates, with clothes drying, it sounds like loose pocket change is loose in between the two tubs.........help!

the change gets caught in the three baffles that are attached to the drum.unplug the dryer, open the door and remove the two screws that hold the in place, remove the door, then remove the other two screws opposite the door screws and pull the front panel off.rotate the drum so one of the baffles are down in the right hand corner so you can get at the screws that hold the baffles onto the drum.try loosening the screws but you might have to remove the baffles to get to the change.let me know how you make out

I know that I am asking this for the third time; however, on the other two I forgot to notate the make and model. Again, after I opened the top of the dryer, there were no coins, it seems to be the screws...

If the screws holding the baffles just came out of the baffles or if the baffle broke they can be reinstalled. If the screws have ripped though the drum, the drum will need to be replaced. The screw part number is 33002973. The short baffle part number is 33001755. The tall baffle part number is 33002032. If you need the complete drum it is part number 33001889. Below are the instructions on how to replace the drum. Parts can be ordered from this link.

below is a link to the service manual for the info u need to take aprt or replace the dryer drum on a Maytag Neptune, I suggest u print it and then enlarge it if u can read it.

My Maytag dryer has a loose dryer drum baffle. How to i get to it inorder to tighten the screws? Do I remove the top

unplug Dryer, open door, Remove two door hinge screws going into front panel, remove two screws on opposite side. Grab front panel on upper sides and twist and pull front panel out. Panel sits on two clips at bottom so you have to tip panel out to unhook from the bottom. You will see a metal hook with two screws in it that holds down the top of the dryer on each side. Remove the screws and hook bracket. Make sure you note how it reinstalls. Top will now lift up and lean back against a wall. It is hinged in back. You can now easily get to the drum baffle screws.
