Thousands of annoyed customers of Panasonic, Yamaha, and Denon DVD Player owners have encountered the infamous H02 / H07 /H03 erors and many others on thier players or maybe the "No disk" error even though a disk is in the drive. Well many people have spent hundreds on repair or bought a new unit. But i am here to tell you that it is okay to open up your dvd player and mess around in side. If your DVD player comes up with one of these errors the first thing you might want to try is to open up your DVD player by removing the screws on the side and the back (depending on the model), then plug the dvd player into power outlet with cover removed. Stick a disk in and press play and give the disk a little push. Most of the time the Spindle motor is dieing out when you get a H02 error. In this case that little push may get your spindle motor to rev back up back into action. And if your as succesful as me then hopefully you have just fixed your H02 error for free without doing much work. I just got a Panasonic HT95 Reciever/DVD player to play all disks again by giving the motor a little "kick start"

H02 is a fault code, though I don't know what. It code be either an electrical fault or mechanical problem. A mechanical fault might be easy to spot so take off the top cover and see if anything is broken, otherwise I suggest a service manual will come in handy.

My Panasonic DVD Player Model S55 does not read the DVD disk. I get a H02 then no disk reading on the display.

Spindle motor in DVD mechanism require replacement, not practical to repair, just buy new one, upconverting DVD player would cost you less then repair of your old one.

REPLACE THE SPINDLE MOTOR

Ouch - This generally one of two things.

1 - Run up speed is not sufficient due to motor wear.
2 - The laser head sits within a 'plastic' runner, which wear down slowly, causing the laser to be misaligned - therefore not reading adequately.

Depending how adventurous you are feeling - you could dismantle the unit - and 'space off' the laser unit (Single piece of paper) this will lift up the laser.
Or you may be able to adjust the calibration power of the laser using a variable pot (unlikely to be available as these are generally hard coded nowadays - and not physical pots)

servo problems will need to replace dvd board...is that cost effective ?..replacement price??

The Spindle motor is defective.
