There should be software on the pc to burn cd/dvd's, check in the start menu for either Sonic or Roxio that is usually when Dell pcs come with for burning discs.

Hi there i am unable to insert any cd/disk in the cd slot of my dell precision m6400, can u assist me?

If this isn't loading cd or dvds then your problem is the drive itself. You need to replace it. You can order parts on line or from dell. Or you can use a external usb drive. All are about the same price.

If it loads dvd but not cd then this is a new one. Usually it has problems with dvds first then cd later on. That means the heads are out of alignment and don't have the fine control for dvds while it can still do the coarse cd .

I recently acquired a used Dell Optiplex 320 desktop computer. When I lay the computer flat, the dvd drawer will open and function. When I stand the computer upright, the dvd drawer will not open. I am...

Sounds like there's something stuck inside the DVD drawer that blocks the drawer from opening if it's not its side. Try turning it over onto the other side, just for a minute, and see if it opens. If it does, there's something blocking the drawer. If it doesn't, you'll probably need a new drive, as that one's literally worn out...which I've only seen twice.

Dvd will not burn cds just says connect bunner and re try bunner was there

go to start and then go to control panel. Look for the icon for System.
double click on system and click the Hardware tab and the button for Device Manager.
Expand the listing for DVD/CD drives and right click on your dvd or cd drive and select Uninstall.
Once uninstalled, then close out the window and then reboot the machine.

Click on Start, Turn off Computer or the little arrow bottom right corner of the menu and select Restart.

This will reinstall the drive hardware drivers, and then try it again.

If that does not work, go to start and click on My Computer or Computer, depending on your system. Right click on the DVD drive and select Properties. Look for a tab for Recording and make sure the option to enable recording is enabled with a check mark.

If that is enabled and it still does not get recognized, then it could be a problem with the mechanics of the drive and should be replaced.

Can i take abunner from one dell computer out and put a bunner from a nother dell computer

Hello, there is no problem on switching similar burners if the destination computer has a free interface connector for the type of connector of the replacement burner since they are plug and play. The form factor is the only thing that could cause problems after that.

No edrive no dvd cant burn

Windows native drivers should be enough for your DVD drive. With the PC powered on, push the eject button on the drive to see if it is getting power. Check the cables inside the case. If it won't eject and/or the cables are all in place and seated, but it still won't work, then you probably have a bad drive.

How do i know if my computer can bur dvds?

If you have Vista, it most likely can burn Dvd's only because most of the new computers come with DVD burners. But another way you can check is click on the start icon, go to Computer and under Devices and Removal Storage you should see DVD RW Drive(E.). The (E) could be different depending on what the drive letter is. Hope this helps.

The Panasonics are very picky about the media ie brand and quality of the DVD blank. Try a different brand and see if that helps.
