I suspect the plug in the camera as I have the same problem. Am using a card reader. Can see a loose pin in the camera connector and have replaced the cable with same result. otherwise a good camera.

The problem may be with the computer. Have you tried connecting the camera to any other computer? If it is the camera, you might just want to pick up a cheap card reader and pop your SD card into it. Multi card readers sell for $5-$15 and will read most of the flash cards that are out there today. Jid

I have a DMC-FZ47 when i set the the camera to a slower speed like 1 minute and take a photo it tells me that the card rejects the photo

Is the mode dail set correctly?
If the picture can not be recorded, did you check if there was enough space left on the memory card?
There are so many possibilities in the manual, I advice to read them al on the end of the book.

Lumix DMC-FZ20 Digital Camera: download software for computer photo transfer...

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

Single exposure, double download????

From your description, your problem may be using the same card in two different cameras. You will need to format the card in the Lumix to get it to work properly. This will erase the card so download any important pics first. Then, stop trading cards between cameras.

I need instruction booklet for Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ20 12X 35mm equivalent.

Hi,

You can download the required manual by clicking the link below:
http://panasonic.com.au/content/library/files/F000741.pdf

You'll require Adobe PDF Reader installed on your PC to view this manual. If it is not already installed on your PC, download it free from: http://get.adobe.com/reader/
Hope this solves your problem. Thanks.

Lost my users manual for my dmc-fz20 lumix camera

Probably yes.
To save paper, download the manual to your hard drive or to a disc, and then read whatever you need.

Best picture mode

Speed= Shutter Speed
A= Apeture
M=Manual
P=Program
I you are asking about the meaning of the above this suggests you are just starting out so the best setting is P[Program]
This lets the camera select for its self the optimum settings.
With more than 60 years of photography behind me - I still use 'P' for snapping around.
If you want to go further you will have go get a good book.
